Owls and Cats
Hi people of the internet. 😺
Last week was the half term holidays so I had a little break from doing my blog and some school work (although my Mum did make me do a little bit of school work and I learnt about the Mayan's). The weather last week was really lovely and hot and sunny which meant that I got to spend a lot of time out in the garden and I even managed to persuade my big brother Callum into some fun and crazy games in our paddling pool.

This week though it was back to school work. Boooooo!!!!
Here are some links and information about what I have done.
June is all about 30 Days Wild. My Mum and I signed up for it and we were sent a pack with useful information on what we can do. We used some of the suggestions and also came up with our own. So far some things I have done are to watch BBC 2's Springwatch where I have learnt some interesting facts. Yesterday I started watching some Wildlife Trust Webcams and it was quite interesting to see what animals were seen on the webcams when we looked at lunchtime, the badgers we were told do not come out until nearly sunset. My favourite of the webcams was the Barn Owls which are one of the cutest things I have ever seen. One chick in particular was very cute and it was funny to watch them play and also amazing to see how they can turn their heads. Did you know how far an owl can turn it's head? It can turn it 270 degrees!!! How far do you think you could turn your head? Humans can sadly only turn their head 90 degrees, equivalent to a right angle. I wonder what the world looks like if you can turn your head like an owl. If you have time you should really check out the webcams and maybe even do your own 30 Days Wild Project.
See how cute they are?
Since the holidays were over and it was back to doing school work we looked to see what work my teachers had set. The first couple of days I worked through the Maths which was doing mental maths for multiplication and division which also helped me with doing my daily Times Tables Rockstars. There was also some problems solving and Time work set.
For English the theme for the week was about the Corona Virus and Lockdown and the NHS, it was a mixture of poems, videos and images and we had to think about what was shown, said, written.
One of the days work was based on this poem called Certainty After reading the poem and then watching the video my Mum and I discussed what we think life will be like in six months time. I will blog about that another day though. The other piece we had to read and then watch a video of was The Great Realisation. This poem made me really think about why we are in lockdown and even though it is really sad what is going on with the Corona Virus that we maybe do need to slow down and appreciate things more and to also look at ways to change how we as a society are. This poem made me really really really think about things and although I did enjoy both poems The Great Realisation was my favourite.
I also did My YouTube Video for the week which if you watch you will see what it is about. I have another video to upload as well but that will probably wait until next week.
I have also been taking lots of photos with my Mum and will upload some of those next week too.
Before I go here is a joke:
Why was the cat good at chess?
He always played a purrfect game.
Get it? Purrfect. Because cats purr when happy. At least that's what Alexa said.
I hope you are all well.
Stay Safe.
Goodbye (or in French Au Revoir)
